CW Youth Choirs
The Central Wisconsin Youth Choirs are actually three choirs. We are looking to make beautiful music in our community, have extraordinary experiences and do it all for the love of it. We don’t charge to be part of one of our three choirs and only ask that you purchase the required music as well as cover the costs of any additional travel that the choir might do.
Meet The Director
JULIE BURGESS IS A GRAMMY NOMINEE FOR THE 2019 GRAMMY EDUCATOR OF THE YEAR AWARD!
Julie Burgess is a graduate of Carroll University with a degree in Piano/Choral Education. She is Director of Choral Activities at the DC Everest Middle School, Organist/Choir Director at St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church in Wausau, and Vocal Director for “The Penguin Project”, a musical theatre program for kids with special needs.
In the past, Mrs. Burgess’ choirs have sung in New York City, Cincinnati, Chicago, and Denver, as well as locally in auditioned festivals and group performances. We sing in several venues throughout the year in Central Wisconsin and beyond.
In the fall of 2017 Mrs. Burgess began a free student choir program called “Central Wisconsin Youth Choirs”. It includes Middle Level, High School Mixed and Special Needs/Mentors Choir.
Mrs. Burgess is passionate about choral music and LOVES to sing and work with students of all ages and abilities. Her belief is everyone can sing, and everyone should have the opportunity to do so!
Mrs. Burgess is married to Dale Burgess, a musical theatre phenom in the Wausau area, and has four children: Jacob, Allison, Kelsey and Lily (who helped her create ~VOICES~).
